Why is a manifold

Why is a manifold

Exhaust System

A stock car usually comes with the collector that receives the hot engine exhaust stream and directs it into a tube, which then sends the rest of the system. Unfortunately, it was developed to make inexpensive and fairly easy to install on the assembly line, there is a serious problem that creates the pressure.

Back pressure means that the flow of gas of any kind of resistance that meets some of the gas forces back into the engine. Now, someis the power of the engine, forcing the exhaust gases are diverted through the restrictions. The result is less power to the ground.

Another approach is called the header with a device. This is a design that used the tubes for each individual output. The typical aftermarket pipes are curved much more fluid, which means that increases air resistance. Subsequently, the exhaust pipes to combine then together with a so-called exhaust manifold and then to another pipeline, thefeeds the flow of gas to the catalyst.

These tubes were When is "tuned" created by changes in its length, a special exhaust system so that if it is down a tube and then through the common line (sometimes called multiple tools at the bottom), creates a slight vacuum another tube. This tends then the hot gas from the second tube through the system to suck. This reduces the pressure. With this approach, an after market system even moretailored to perform or offer bestt east of restrictions on certain speed ranges. This means that these systems are usually for a specific application where you want maximum performance designed.

As colder air is denser than warm air and weighs more is there to push harder or with a system to suck out. So you want to avoid the hot exhaust for a while '. This is why some systems are ceramic coated, which reduces the radiant heat in the engine compartment, andThis helps to increase the temperature in the outlet pipes. This also leads to an increase in gas velocity. Instead of ceramic tiles, there are some special types of high heat paints that are less expensive to provide for the system. A third way to save heat when you wrap each tube in some special bond that helps to maintain the internal heat conduction.

If, when you add this to your car, you can select specific services including: The sound of the engine isbe changed to sound more pleasant, and the benefit can be increased and should give an increase in peak engine performance, and although stainless steel, which made it much longer.

However, nothing is free, and there may be some disadvantages with their performance. The increase in typical sound of a header can annoy other people or lead to road noise violations and tickets by the local police. Some system designs to reduce the height from the ground and then the car candamaged or pulled out of the car. Because of the development some systems also reduce your low-end torque.
